Regional district board to be sworn in on Nov. 16

The new board of the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George will be sworn in a day ahead of the board's first regular scheduled meeting.

The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George board of directors will be sworn in on Nov. 16.

Rural area directors Victor Mobley (Electoral Area A), Lara Becket (Electoral Area C, Bill Empey (Electoral Area D), Art Kaehn (Electoral Area E), Kevin Dunphy (Electoral Area F), Jerrilyn Kirk (Electoral Area G) and Dannielle Alan (Electoral Area H) will be sworn in, along with the municipal directors for Prince George, Mackenzie, McBride and Valemount.

On Monday, Prince George city council appointed Mayor Simon Yu and city councillors Cori Ramsay, Kyle Sampson and Brian Skakun to represent the city on the regional district board.

Valemount Mayor Owen Torgersen and McBride Mayor Gene Runtz will represent their communities on the regional district board.

Mackenzie Mayor Joan Atkinson is expected to represent the District of Mackenzie on the board. A recommendation to appoint her to the board will go before Mackenzie’s council during its regular meeting on Monday.

The new regional district board will hold its first regular meeting the following day, on Nov. 17.
