If you plan on heading to a civic building any time soon, it may be a good idea to bring a mask with you.
Though it’s not mandatory, the City of Prince George is now asking residents to consider wearing a face-covering in its facilities as part of efforts to reduce any potential spread of COVID-19.
Taking effect tomorrow (Nov. 3), residents and visitors will notice signs placed at entrances to buildings like city hall displaying encouraging them to follow safety information.
This includes wearing a mask when safe-distancing can’t be done, using hand sanitizer set up in the building and staying out if you’re feeling sick.
“Since the pandemic began, the City has followed the advice from Dr. Henry and implemented her orders and recommendations,” says Mayor Lyn Hall, as City staff are also being expected to wear a mask inside as well.
“We appreciate that physical distancing isn’t always possible in the facilities that we have opened and so we are following her advice in regards to masks and communicating an expectation that everyone in our facilities should wear a mask if they can’t keep their distance from one another.”
Disposable masks are set to be available at civic facility entrances and hand-sanitizing stations.
