Friday night at about 8:30 an Air Canada Jazz aircraft declared an emergency in the air.
Shortly after take-off from Prince George (YXS) to Vancouver International Airport (YVR), the aircraft operating flight AC8350 developed a hydraulic pressure issue.
Following standard operating procedures, the crew requested a priority landing as a precautionary measure.
“The safety of our passengers and crew is our top priority and the aircraft landed in Prince George safely and uneventfully,” Lauren Dunn, communications manager for Jazz Aviation, said in response to an email request for further details. “Our maintenance personnel will conduct a thorough inspection of the aircraft to determine the cause and proceed with the necessary repairs.”
There were 36 passengers and four crew on board.
“There were no adverse effects on passengers or crew,” Dunn said. “Passengers will be travelling on alternative flights today.”
