A highly-anticipated Prince George concert has officially been put on hold as of today (June 4) as COVID-19 continues its pandemic around the world.
The Saints and Sinners Tour, which was scheduled to rock the CN Centre stage on Canada Day (July 1) this year, is postponed as Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry’s recommendation on gatherings of less than 50 people remains in place.
Big Wreck, Headstones, Moist and The Tea Party were set to perform for the first time ever together along the nationwide trek from B.C. to Newfoundland.
The Canadian super-groups say they’re committed to making this tour possible until it is safe to do so.
“We want to be able to rock out with you as soon as it is logistically possible, while heeding all provincial regulations and graduated timelines to reopen for business,” reads a tour statement.
“Everyone’s safety is at the absolute forefront of these plans.
“We’ve been working to find the best possible solution for rescheduling the tour with all the promoters across the country.”
If you purchased a ticket for the concert, you’re encouraged to hold on to them until a new date is set for the Saints and Sinners Tour.
If you’re unable to make the rescheduled show when it's announced, TicketsNorth says it’ll provide refunds.
As of this publication, there are 64 confirmed COVID-19 cases reported in northern B.C. with just one active case.
There are 2,623 people who have tested positive since the virus hit the province, including 166 deaths.
