The school district's playgrounds are now off limits.
Closures came into effect on Monday as part of the effort to contain spread of COVID-19.
"The school district wants to support the efforts of our provincial health officer and the government to 'flatten the curve,'" superintendent Anita Richardson said in reference to the effort to prevent a spike in the number of case and instead spread them out over a longer period as a way to ease stress on the medical system.
Signs informing users of the closures will be posted at the sites, the school district said.
City parks and playgrounds remain open, although authorities urge the public to practice social distancing and stay two metres apart.
