A section of North Nechako Road will be temporarily closed due to construction, starting Wednesday evening.
The section is located between the intersections of Dever Road and Churchill Road. Work to replace a sanitary sewer line is expected to begin at approximately 7 p.m. on Wednesday and be completed by Friday.
"The operation is being completed prior to the Labour Day long weekend to avoid the increased traffic disruption that would occur if the project were carried out after school has resumed," a statement issued by the City of Prince George said. "Much of the work will be done at night also in an effort to reduce inconvenience to motorists."
Local traffic and emergency vehicles will still have access to the area, and motorists are advised to use caution in the work zone and follow directions from traffic controllers on the scene.
