Northern B.C. Crime Stoppers annual Shred-it event will take place on Saturday, April 26 at PGSS.

Northern BC Crime Stoppers is bringing back its spring shredding event this weekend in an effort to protect residents from identity theft and support local crime prevention.

The Drive-Thru Spring Community Shred It Event is set for Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Prince George Secondary School parking lot.

Residents are invited to bring personal or sensitive documents to be securely shredded on-site by Shred-it Mobile Shredding Services.

The cost is a minimum $10 donation per bag or box, with proceeds supporting Northern BC Crime Stoppers. The event is intended for personal use only and not for commercial or business shredding.

In celebration of Crime Stoppers’ 40th anniversary in Prince George, the event will also feature a community barbecue hosted by Mr. Mike’s, offering burgers for an additional $5 donation between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

The initiative is held in partnership with Shred-it, Mr. Mike’s, Prince George Secondary School and School District 57.

Crime Stoppers encourages residents to fight crime by submitting anonymous tips at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at www.northernbccrimestoppers.ca. Tips that lead to an arrest may qualify for a cash reward.
