The Skate for Literacy returned to Prince George on Sunday as members of the public were able to skate with the Prince George Spruce Kings at Rolling Mix Concrete Arena. The Prince George Public Library and Literacy Prince George partnered up to bring back the family-friendly fundraiser. Admission to the skate was by donation and roughly 50 skaters of all ages joined the Spruce Kings on the ice. All funds raised from Sunday's skate will be shared evenly between Literacy Prince George and its local literacy programs, and the Prince George Public Library's free tutoring program called Homework Help. Homework Help is a program that sees tutors work with students in grade three to twelve to assist in building their skills in math and/or English. There are currently thirty-five students enrolled in the Homework Help program.
