As it turns out, Prince George uses Skip the Dishes as often as it can when it comes to ordering take-out.
Wendy’s Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger was the most popular food item in the city for 2019 with more than 8,100 orders since Jan. 1.
If stacked one by one, the burgers would stand taller than the height of Mr. PG, according to the delivery company in a release to PrinceGeorgeMatters.
McDonald’s McDouble came in second place at 5,200 orders (that’s 10,400 patties) and butter chicken rounding out the top three with 4,500 orders.
When it comes to utilizing Skip the Dishes from locally-owned restaurants, Prince George had a big craving for Indian food more so than any other cuisine.
Dana Mandi (2095 5 Ave.) claimed first place in that category followed by Tandoori Nation in second.
Amigo’s Taco Shop, a Mexican joint located on Brunswick Street, took third place in the home-grown division.
“We love seeing you support local independent restaurant owners,” reads the Skip the Dishes release.
“Prince George’s cravings stand out from the crowd compared to the rest of Canada, with the top three national favourites being butter chicken, poutine, and dynamite rolls. That’s okay, though, our love for junior bacon cheeseburgers is what makes you special.”
The most expensive order in B.C.’s northern capital came to $328, which included sandwiches, burgers and salads, while one person used Skip the Dishes in Prince George almost 320 times.
That averages out to nearly an order per day between Jan. 1 and today (Dec. 10).
Skip the Dishes saw an order in the Greater Toronto Area at over $4,000, the largest in Canada this past year.
