Environment Canada has continued a smoky sky bulletin.
"The Prince George, Stuart-Nechako, Cariboo (including Quesnel and Williams Lake), Yellowhead, McGregor, Williston, Peace and Fort Nelson regions of B.C. are being impacted or are likely to be impacted by wildfire smoke over the next 24-48 hours," the agency said in an update issued Thursday morning.
Officials went on to warn of the health hazards.
"Wildfire smoke can be harmful to everyone’s health even at low concentrations. Everyone can take action to reduce their exposure to wildfire smoke. "Take a break from the smoke at a location in your community where you can find clean, cool air."
The bulletin was first issued on Tuesday. The next update is scheduled for Friday.
Federal Public Safety Minister Bill Blair says Canadian Forces personnel are being deployed to help with an "unprecedented" wildfire situation in Alberta.
Alberta has declared a state of emergency in response to the situation. There were 82 active wildfires in the province as of Thursday morning, with 23 out of control.
A website maps predictions of where the smoke will be and how bad it will get.
