Buses in Prince George could be running behind schedule, due to the heavy snow, BC Transit warned on Tuesday

Heavy snowfall in Prince George is causing bus service delays, BC Transit warned on Tuesday.

In a snowfall warning issued on Monday, Environment Canada warned that a "long period of heavy snow" is expected to deliver as much as 40 centimetres to the Central Interior over the next few days.

“Due to the current adverse weather conditions, service in the Prince George Transit System could be impacted,” a statement issued by BC Transit on Tuesday morning said. “Our operating company is working hard to get customers to their destination and BC Transit asks people to please leave more time for their journey. We appreciate the patience of our customers during this time.”

Transit riders can find the latest information about their route on the BC Transit website, or using the BC Transit app.
