Drivers be aware if you’re heading to Alberta, northeastern B.C. or towards Kamloops for New Year’s Eve out of Prince George.
Environment Canada has several snowfall warnings for regions east of the city along Highway 16, including Tete Jaune Cache to the Alberta border, calling for 15 to 25 cm of the white stuff between today (Dec. 31) and tomorrow (Jan. 1).
The same conditions are also predicted for the McGregor region northeast of Prince George and the North Thompson and Columbia areas near Kamloops off Highway 5.
Snow is expected to ease off by late Wednesday morning.

The national service says the Yellowhead Highway may see sudden limited visibility due to the heavy snowfall, causing hazardous driving conditions.
Commuters are encouraged to drive to the conditions, ensure that winter tires are on your vehicle and check Drive B.C. for updates.
Prince George’s snowfall warning ended last night (Dec. 30) around 8:15 p.m. after eight-and-a-half hours in effect.
