It’s no secret that Prince George’s only movie theatre is somewhat… out of date.
The Famous Players Theatre in Parkwood Place hasn’t had a major renovation since it opened in 1997.
In an effort to modernize the theatre, local resident Chance Graham has started a change.org petition called “Famous Players Prince George needs a renovation”.
“If you have ever travelled to another city and went to the movies you know Prince George Famous Players needs a renovation,” writes Graham. “Let’s start with D-BOX, might be the best seat you could get watch a movie, but here in Prince George we don’t have that.”
D-BOX seats are motion-enabled seats that Cineplex describes as an “unmatched, hyper-realistic entertainment experience that moves the body and sparks the imagination through motion.”
“In the end, Prince George needs new seats and an upgrade to the movie theatre,” concludes Graham, in his change.org petition.
The petition started yesterday (June 25) and already has almost 700 signatures.
