A moose cow and her calves continue to wander the Massey Drive and Ospika Boulevard area.
This weekend, an incident involving a dog and its owner getting injured by the animals has prompted the City of Prince George to advise residents to stay away from Ginter’s Meadow.
Warning signs have been placed in the park and along the trails, and you are also encouraged to keep pets on a leash until the moose move on.
Conservation officers say moose often think of dogs as predators, which may force them to become aggressive when protecting their young.
“Wildlife such as moose are part of the urban landscape in Prince George,” says the City in a news release. “And, as always, residents are encouraged to exercise caution and be on the lookout at all times while enjoying parks and green spaces.”
