Community support is overwhelming for the Prince George Gang Crime Summit November 1 and 22, Wendy Moore, community policing coordinator, says of the event designed to bring agencies and groups together with a common goal.

"Our constituents have told us loud and clear that it is time to rid not only the downtown, but all of Prince George of organized crime activity," said Dan McLaren, Downtown Business Improvement Association.

Shinder Kirk, Sergeant, Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit - Gang Task Force, said "We are very encouraged by the community support received from local businesses and agencies. It makes a strong statement in that community stakeholders are looking for solutions and being proactive about gang violence and activities."

The cost to attend the two-day summit is $55, and includes lunch for both days. The public evening forum is free.
