Students, First Nation dig for answers

The first excavation ever done in the Babine Lake Region is almost finished. An archaeology field school was set up at Babine Lake from June to the end of July by the UNBC Anthropology Program, in partnership with the Lake Babine Nation.

The first excavation ever done in the Babine Lake Region is almost finished.

An archaeology field school was set up at Babine Lake from June to the end of July by the UNBC Anthropology Program, in partnership with the Lake Babine Nation.

An ancient village at Nilkitkwa Lake, north of Babine Lake, was a major part of the project. The group is focusing on a part of the village where community members processed and stored various foods such as salmon.
