Preliminary investigations indicate a dispute between two individuals escalated into a case of deadly road rage, according to a Fraser Fort George Traffic Services report.
The traffic service responded to a motor vehicle crash on Upper Fraser Highway just east of Willow River town site at Sunday afternoon at 3:23 p.m.
The Upper Fraser Highway remained closed for about six hours while police investigated the crash.
Both vehicles were traveling eastbound on Upper Fraser Highway when one of the vehicles failed to negotiate a curve.
The vehicle went into the ditch and hit a driveway abutment. The driver was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
The second driver remained at the scene and is fully co-operating with police.
The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The case remains under investigation.
