The Northern Bear Awareness Society is having a pub night and silent auction at Alfredo's Pub Saturday, Nov. 27, with all proceeds going directly to NBAS.
Tickets are $20 and include a smorgasbord roast beef dinner and dessert. Silent auction and raffle items could have get your Christmas shopping started, with items like wildlife art by Sandra Nahornoff and Peter Potapoff, tickets to a Cougars game and almost $1,000 in other great items.
Northern Bear Aware faced their worst year for bears in 2010 since the society began in 1998. There have been over 1,900 bear sightings in Prince George area, resulting in the destruction of one grizzly bear and 86 black bears this year.
Bears were destroyed due to Prince George residents leaving out backyard attractants in a bad natural food year.
For the pub night to happen, 50 tickets must be sold by Wednesday.
