Dawson Creek RCMP are asking for the public's help in locating the third of three suspects in a shooting incident on Friday, Jan. 17.

RCMP are seeking the public’s help in locating a suspect following a drive-by shooting in Dawson Creek early Friday, Jan. 17.

Police were called to a home on the 1100 block of 119th Avenue at about 1 a.m. to investigate a report of multiple shots fired at the building.

There were no injuries.

A vehicle was seen speeding away. Police pursued it, but shots were fired at officers from the fleeing vehicle, which was later found abandoned.

Police used a canine unit to find two suspects, who were arrested and held in custody.

A third suspect managed to escape in a dark-coloured mid-2000s GMC or Chevy pickup truck, police said. The vehicle sustained significant front-end damage after hitting a police car during the getaway.

The suspect is described as a male approximately 5’8” tall with a thin build, brown hair and eyes and a tattoo along the right side of his neck. He also has tunnel piercings in his ears.

Police believe the suspect was driving the damaged pickup truck and are urging anyone who may have seen it or the individual to come forward.

"Dawson Creek RCMP request that the public call 911 if they see this man or the vehicle and to not approach," said Cpl. Brett Urano, BC RCMP spokesperson. "We are thankful that no one was injured  and are grateful for the public’s assistance thus far. We are continuing our investigation and ask any witnesses to please come forward if they have not yet spoken to an investigator."

Anyone with information is urged to contact local police.
