Teen fighting double trouble

Just like a typical teenager, one Lakewood junior secondary school student liked to sleep a lot. The trouble was it was hard to wake her up some days, and the effort it took to go to the school's Friday night Halloween dance last fall saw Leora Wildi, 14, take to her bed for the entire weekend that followed.

Her mom, Lynn, thought it might be mono, because Leora's lack of energy seemed chronic.

One fateful trip to the clinic Dec. 28 and blood tests that followed Dec. 30, led to every parent's worst fear. Leora had leukemia.
