Operation Red Nose Prince George continues to shine, just like Rudolph's nose.

The organization will have a total of 17 volunteer teams out on both Friday (Dec. 20) and Saturday (Dec. 21) during the fourth weekend of 2019.

So far, after six nights of service this season, Operation Red Nose Prince George has provided 521 rides with last weekend being its busiest to-date when 66 volunteers delivered 125 rides on Dec. 14 and 58 volunteers gave 105 rides the following night.

“We are looking forward to another busy weekend, our final one before Christmas and New Year’s Eve,” said Andrea Johnson, Operation Red Nose spokesperson. “Our volunteers have been fantastic and have had a great time.”

During the same upcoming weekend in 2018, Operation Red Nose recorded 16 teams delivering 99 rides on night seven while 15 teams provided 117 rides the next evening.

The highest number of rides given on weekend four was back in 2010 when 142 rides were provided on night seven and 177 rides on night eight.

There have been more volunteers stepping up to the plate for New Year's Eve, with 18 teams now registered. Johnson said there are still at least 54 more volunteers needed which equals 18 teams.

Johnson adds on New Year's Eve in the last 10 years, between 150 to 200 rides have been given on New Year's Eve and right now, there isn't enough to deliver a large number of safe rides home.
