BC Hydro is reporting a third COVID-19 case at the Site C work camp.
BC Hydro says it was notified over the Thanksgiving long weekend that a contractor worker tested positive. One other worker has been asked to self-isolate, the company said Tuesday.
"There is a low risk of transmission due to the precautions taken by the worker while at site and the protocols in place in the camp," BC Hydro said in a statement.
The worker is being cared for by on-site health staff, and will remain quarantined in their room until they are medically cleared to leave, the company said.
This is the third confirmed case of COVID-19 at the dam site, following cases in July and September. All three are unrelated, BC Hydro said.
As of Tuesday morning, there were 1,607 workers reported at the work camp, six of them in self-isolation.
There are 2,200 rooms at the work camp, 150 of those available to isolate workers with COVID, or those with symptoms of sneezing, sore throat, muscle aches, headaches, cough fever, or difficulty breathing.
