Power restored to most Prince George customers affected by early-morning outage

BC Hydro reports 1,382 customers on the north side of the city are without power after a motor vehicle accident early Sunday morning.

The lights are back on and power has been restored for most of the households affected by an early-morning outage.

B.C. Hydro was alerted at about 3:13 a.m. Sunday that a motor vehicle hit a power pole in an accident, causing the outage that affected 1,382 customers in the Hart, Chief Lake, Nukko Lake, Ness Lake and Reid Lake areas.The area of the city affected was east of Foothills Boulevard, south of Fisher Road and north of Wildwood Crescent.

In an update posted this afternoon, BC Hydro reported just five customers are still without power. The affected residences are located near Chief Lake Road and Sparwood Road. Crews are on the scene and they expect to have the line repaired by 8 p.m. tonight.
