Prince George Live! For Ukraine is back.
The event was first held last May to raise money for displaced Ukrainians coming to the city following the Russian invasion of Ukraine Feb. 24, 2022.
The Prince George Community Foundation is once again hosting the night of food, music and entertainment to help support Ukrainian families coming to the city.
PG Live! For Ukraine, presented by Canadian Tire, will take place at the Coast Inn of the North on May 12. The event will feature comedian Jessica Holmes, who is known for her performances at Just For Laughs and The Second City, as well as staring in hit comedy series, Royal Canadian Air Farce and The Holmes Show.
There will also be music, savoury eats and a silent auction.
All proceeds from this event will go towards the "Ukraine Humanitarian Support Fund" to aid those individuals and families who will be settling in Prince George.
Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased online.
The Raising Hope Campaign in conjunction with the Miracle Theatre production of Dancing Lessons is also raising money to establish the Refugee and Hope Endowment Fund at the Prince George Community Foundation, which will immediately benefit the needs of displaced Ukrainians in the city.
As of the one-year anniversary of the invasion in February, there were more than 163 displaced Ukrainians in Prince George.
However, these are only the people the organizations are aware of, and there may be more in the community who have not reached out to either Prince George for Ukraine or Share Hope organizations.
