At about 7 a.m. Friday Prince George Fire Rescue crews attended a fire in a tiny home located at the end of Fourth Avenue, a part of Moccasin Flats.
Here are the details:
- Crews from two halls were dispatched to Lower Patricia Encampment for a reported outbuilding fire.
- First arriving crew found light smoke coming from a tiny home. After initial size up, the supporting apparatus were cancelled.
- Occupants had constructed an unapproved heating source inside. The fire spread to the structure, resulting in crews removing wall panels and sheeting to ensure the fire was extinguished.
- RCMP were called to assist fire crews with occupant safety.
- Damage is estimated at $1000. No injuries to occupants or fire crews as a result of the fire.
