A Canadian rock icon will lead a series of musicians and bands on a popular Prince George stage next summer.
The third edition of Cariboo Rocks the North set for August 2020 includes seven-time Juno Award-winner Tom Cochrane and his Red Rider band.
The 66-year-old will be among 11 total groups that will take over Exhibition Park next to the CN Centre, where thousands of residents from Prince George and across northern B.C. have taken in the three-day music festival for the last two years.
The rest of the 2020 line-up, announced this morning (Nov. 28), includes:
- Nazareth
- Powder Blues Band
- Aldo Nova
- Harlequin (second appearance)
- Haywire
- Kick Ax
- Prism (second appearance)
- The Stampeders
- Sweet
- April Wine
“We have had nothing but great feedback from the thousands of fans who have attended the past two years and we couldn’t be more excited to bring this event back for another year in 2020,” said Cariboo Rocks the North Organizer Kyle Sampson in a news release, who is also the northern B.C. manager for the festival's title sponsor, Pacific Western Brewery (PWB).
“PG is PWB's hometown, and we know how important it is to give the residents of northern B.C. an opportunity to come together, enjoy great music, and make memories that will last a lifetime with a beer in hand and a smile on their face. We are proud to be Prince George’s original Brewery since 1957, and all of us at PWB are excited to join our partners at CN Centre and GSL in throwing the biggest party in the north once again!”
Cochrane is likely to jam out with popular singles like Life Is A Highway, Big League, Victory Day, Boy Inside the Man and No Regrets.
Cariboo Rocks the North is slated for Aug. 7-9, 2020.
Tickets are already on sale and more information is available on the festival’s website and TicketsNorth.
