Money can’t buy happiness, or a seat on the School District 57 board of education.
School board candidates Bob Schroeder and Josh Silva were the top spenders in the school district 2022 general election, but both came up more than 620 votes short of being elected on Oct. 15, according to data released by Elections BC on Thursday.
On the other end of the scale, trustee Cory Antrim received no campaign donations and spent $313.55 of his own money on his successful campaign to get elected.
In Mackenzie, incumbent trustee Rachael Weber was the only person to come forward, and was acclaimed. Weber spent nothing on her campaign.
In the Robson Valley, incumbent trustee Bob Thompson was acclaimed as well.
Thompson, and Prince George candidate Mike Rositano, did not make the Jan. 13 deadline to file their donations and campaign expenses with Elections BC.
