Work began Monday on installing traffic signals at the intersection of Domano Boulevard and St. Lawrence Avenue/Gladstone Drive in lower College Height.
The effort involves excavation, backfilling, electrical work, concrete base construction and more, and should be completed by mid-November, the City said in a statement, and added periodic traffic disruption may occur.
Drivers are asked to be cautious whenever around road crews.
"Please follow on-site signage and directions from road crews. The City of Prince George appreciates the patience and understanding of residents while this important operation is carried out."
Once complete, the signals will function as a regular intersection featuring "permissive left turns," which means turning can occur on the green light when it is safe to do so.
"The new signals will operate in a manner similar to those the City installed in 2019 at the 22nd Avenue and Ospika Boulevard intersection.
"The lights will remain green on Domano until vehicles approach the intersection on Gladstone Drive or St. Lawrence Avenue.
"The updated intersection will have vehicle detection technology and pedestrian-activated crosswalks."
