The western end of the Ridgeview trail in the Hart area will be closed during work hours starting Monday as a crew goes in to clear brush as a wildfire prevention measure.
"Users are asked to obey signs indicating the location of work crews, and to avoid those areas," city hall said in a press release. "The work is expected to be completed by the beginning of November."
The westernmost section of trail beginning at Wildwood Crescent running 1.6 kilometres to the south end of Sadler Drive will be closed. The remaining eastern part of the trail will remain open.
The first phase of the treatment was completed in March when dead pine and larger fuels were removed from the area. This phase will involve the removal of understory or fine fuels from the edge of the trail.
