Transit expansion coming to Prince George in January

New express service to take to the road
bus - city

A new express service and more midday trips will be added to the city's transit service starting January 2, BC Transit said Monday.

The new route, the 105 Pine Centre Express/Downtown Express, will be the first of its kind in Prince George. The 105 will only stop at key stops along the route to reduce the overall trip time and get customers from A to B quicker.

This route will connect Pine Centre Mall and Downtown via the College of New Caledonia and Spruceland Mall.

The new 105 Pine Centre Express/Downtown Express will reduce trip times, and allow for more room for riders on the 88/89 Westgate/Hart.

Midday trips are also being added on the 15 UNBC/Downtown, and buses will come every 15 minutes through most of the day.

The 16 UNBC/College Heights is being broken up into the 16 UNBC/College Heights and the 19 UNBC/Westgate to make it easier for riders.

The changes are being implemented as part of a long-term for the service and as a result of feedback from the community.

"BC Transit expects these changes will better match service to customer demand," BC Transit said.
