If there had been customers checking out at M&M Food Market it would be a different story but owner Jason Johannson said luckily there were no injuries when a pickup truck crashed into the front of the store just after noon on Thursday.
The store, located at 3383 Eighth Ave., suffered extensive damage to its front, and a giant pillar smashed the counter, Johannson explained.
"After the truck was stopped – smashed in and stopped – the tires were still spinning, which makes you think the foot was on the accelerator because they were having a seizure or something, but who knows, right?" he said.
The RCMP said no information is available regarding the incident, which is still under investigation.
The store will be up and running by 5 p.m. Thursday.
