School board trustees granted "courtesy" busing privileges this week for an out-of-catchment elementary school student even though the school district's staff and legal counsel advised against the move.

Both legal counsel and staff suggested trustees amend its policy regarding liability for courtesy riders who are dropped off at a bus stop by vehicle in answer to court rulings elsewhere in the province before making the move.
