Charges have been approved against two of the suspects apprehended Monday following a failed attempt to evade Prince George RCMP.
Each of Dilmeet Singh Chahal, 22, and Zakaria Benjamin Athaya, 21, face a count of resisting arrest and two firearms-related counts, according to court records. Chahal has also been charged with dangerous driving and fleeing police.
Both appear to be from the Lower Mainland.
They were among three people arrested Monday afternoon in the area of Fourth Avenue and Winnipeg Street after an attempt to pull over a suspicious vehicle led to two police vehicles being rammed.
The three attempted to flee on foot after their vehicle was boxed in but were soon arrested. Shots were fired by police during the encounter but no injuries were reported.
Chahal and Athaya remain in custody with bail hearings scheduled for later this week. The third person was released without charges.
