Two Prince George men charged from separate drug busts in February 2020, August 2019

A pair of men in their 30s have been summoned to Prince George court next month following charges laid against them in separate drug-trafficking investigations.

Mounties explain Tyler Aaron Gelowitz and Bryce Jeffrey Williams have been approved of charges by the Public Prosecution Service of Canada as a result of a series of search warrants executed in August 2019 and February of this year, all under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

“The Prince George RCMP is committed to aggressively targeting those responsible for causing harm through drug trafficking and its associated violence in our community,” says RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass in a news release today (Oct. 23).

GELOWITZ

During the evening hours of Aug. 1, the Prince George RCMP Street Crew Unit five warrants at homes across the city.

Three warrants were executed at the 2800 block Parent Rd., the 4100-block 1 Ave., and the 4300-block Eaglenest Cres. 

The other two were located at residences in the 100-block McIntyre Cres.

Police found and seized 1.3 kg of cocaine, 0.5 kg of meth, nearly 200 grams of fentanyl, 28 grams of gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB), $129,000 in cash and nine firearms, including two pistols and a silencer.

A 2019 GMC Sierra Pickup truck, as well as a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe, were also taken as offence-related property, RCMP explained in its statement of the original seizure. 

The following charges have been laid against Gelowitz, age 39:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Five counts)
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Possession of a Loaded Restricted Firearm without Authorization

His court date is scheduled for Nov. 18.

WILLIAMS

On Valentine’s Day 2020 (Feb. 14), the RCMP Street Crew Unit conducted a traffic stop on Foothills Boulevard, then received and executed two warrants.

At the homes on North Ospika Boulevard and Orbin Place, police seized more than a kilogram of cocaine, more than 300 grams of MDMA and $48,000 in cash.

The following charge have been laid against Williams, age 35:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking

His appearance in court is slated for Nov. 4.
