Two people are in hospital from a kitchen fire that took place at a Prince George complex last night (Oct. 22).
Prince George Fire Rescue were able to put out what is being deemed as an 'accidental' blaze from a unit in a triple-story complex on 1400-block, Irwin St. near the intersection of 15 Ave. and Highway 97, but two tenants that were evacuated are being treated for smoke inhalation.
The result of the incident, which was caused by cooking, has also left a high price tag at an estimated $100,000.
Crews from four different halls responded to the fire shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday and when they arrived, they saw smoke and flames coming out of the ground-level unit of the building’s four.
Working quickly, firefighters were able to extinguish the flames.
There were also no injuries to personnel.
