Two directors from the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George will serve on the board of directors of the North-Central Local Government Association (NCLGA).

Regional District of Fraser-Fort George rural directors Jerrilyn Kirk and Dannielle Alan will serve on the board of directors of the North-Central Local Government Association (NCLGA).

The NCLGA, which serves as an advocacy group for northern and central B.C. communities, approved a new board of directors at the group’s annual general meeting in Chetwynd and Dawson Creek between May 9 and May 12.

Kirk, who represents Electoral Area G (Crooked River-Parsnip), was named to the board as a director-at-large.

Alan, who represents Electoral Area H (Robson Valley-Canoe), was named the regional representative for the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George, which includes the City of Prince George.

Williams Lake city councillor Shelia Boehm was appointed the organization’s new president, and will serve a one-year term.

“I am excited to be taking on the president role with NCLGA,” Boehm said in a statement issued on Monday. “As a long-term resident of northern and rural B.C., I believe this is the best place to live, work, and play and I look forward to collaborating with the board and membership to ensure issues of our region are heard and supported.”

No City of Prince George city councillors were named to the NCLGA board.
