UNBC JDC West makes big splash during annual fundraiser

Icy fundraiser looks to support cardiac care in the North.

UNBC JDC West team held their annual Chillin' for Charity fundraiser on Saturday afternoon in front of CN Centre. Teams donned costumes to jump into the pool of icy water. People were able to donate money in order to add buckets of ice to the pool to give the participants an extra jolt of coldness when they hit the water.

Funds raised from today's event will be going to the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation to assist in bringing cardiac care to the area, specifically a Cardiac Cath Lab. Chillin' for Charity was scheduled to run from 12:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and by 1:00 p.m. they had already raised $11,000 of their $25,000 fundraising goal.
