More sporting activities in Prince George have been cancelled this year.
UNBC’s Timberwolves sports camps and Active Minds program will not take place in the summer as COVID-19 continues to cause uncertainty in the province.
The school says the decision was made to also meet the recommendations of B.C. Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and to ensure the safety of the community, staff, volunteers and campers alike.
“Although we will miss welcoming hundreds of smiling faces to our campus this year, we look forward to the day when we can welcome you back for UNBC youth programming,” reads a statement from the post-secondary.

There’s no rescheduled dates at this point and refunds are set to be issued to anyone who pre-registered.
UNBC adds more updates are coming and for interested residents to watch for them on social media in the weeks ahead.
T-Wolves’ week-long sports camps were originally scheduled for July and August 2020.
Each year, current players and coaches from the basketball and soccer teams instruct and develop the skills of dozens of youth each year, ranging from as young as Grade Two to students going into Grade 12.
Active Minds, originally scheduled for July 6 to Aug. 28, welcomes kids interested in engaging with science, technology and engineering.
