The de-icing service at Prince George Airport is back in operation.
"We have been advised that a replacement part has been installed in the de-icing truck at YXS and we are currently able to de-ice aircraft," officials said in a statement issued shortly before midday Monday.
In a previous statement issued Monday, officials said they have also been advised that a replacement de-icing machine is being delivered from the Lower Mainland.
"This machine is expected to be here today and will be put into service after a brief inspection," officials said.
The two de-icing trucks that spray a heated glycol-water mix to remove ice buildup on planes to allow them to fly in cold temperatures have broken down.
One truck broke down earlier in last week and the other went down at 6 a.m. Friday morning when the compressor that forces out the de-icing liquid failed.
Several flights had been affected. Passengers departing the city have been asked to check the Prince George Airport Authority’s website for updated information on those flights.
