A flurry of affidavits opened the start of the Skakun trial on Tuesday.
Sworn statements by city councillor Brian Skakun, who is accused of violating provincial privacy regulations, and Citizen reporter Frank Peebles greeted the start of the morning trial in Courtroom 102.
The introduction of evidence sent the trial into recess as lawyers for the defence, the City of Prince George and the Crown paused to examine the new material.
Skakun is accused of leaking a confidential documents to CBC in Aug. 28. He was charged under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act a year later.
