Vanderhoof's Pam Berger wins 2021 Prince George Spruce Kings Show Home

Second $100,000 jackpot went to local resident Marlaine Mohr

A home 'fit for a king' has been awarded to a Queen!

Pam Berger was given, what may be, the most surprising phone call evere as her name was drawn out of the barrel today (April 30) as the winner of the 2021 Prince George Spruce Kings Show Home Lottery.

The Vanderhoof resident purchased one of 11,000 tickets that sold out on Sunday (April 24) for the $670,000 home located in the Aberdeen Glen area, marking the second straight year the fundraiser has done so in the COVID-19 pandemic era.

Berger's winning ticket number was #2055.

"Are you serious?" she asked when Show Home Lottery Manager Liz Bennett called to inform her of the exciting news.

"Oh, that's wonderful [...] I'm shaking, that is fantastic news, Oh wow!"

The second Mega 50/50 jackpot prize-winner was also unveiled.

Prince George resident Marlaine Mohr became $100,000 richer after her ticket (#20882) was selected out of a separate barrel, one of 8,000 that sold out on April 17.

"Oh my goodness, I'm shocked. That's awesome!" she said after Bennett gave her the call.

Mohr is in company with Cerry Nash of Fort St. James, who won the first $100,000-Mega 50/50 jackpot on Feb. 12.

All proceeds from the Spruce Kings Show Home go towards the community-based junior 'A' hockey club team, which pays for travel costs and other related expenses.

The 2,600 sq-ft. residents was built by Hopson Construction at 2754 Links Drive, includes three bedrooms, three bathrooms, an office, a two-door garage and a vaulted ceiling, and also comes complete with home decor, furniture and up-to-date appliances.
