The 18th annual BC Natural Resources Forum (BCNRF) will have a much different look and feel to its 2021 event next week.

Due to COVID-19, the event is going virtual for the first time in its history, but will include a large slate of Prince George speakers as well as industry experts and a keynote from B.C. Premier John Horgan.

The first day of the three-day event on Jan. 26 will feature Dayi (Chief) Clay Pountney of the Lheidli T'enneh First Nation, Prince George-Valemount MLA Shirley Bond, Cariboo-Prince George MP Todd Doherty and City of Prince George Mayor Lyn Hall and Prince George Chamber of Commerce CEO Todd Corrigall.

Terry Teegee, Regional Chief of the BC Assembly of First Nations, will deliver the day's keynote address.

The event is usually held at Prince George's Conference and Civic Centre, which also draws a large crowd of industry workers each year, hoping to make their message clear to the Premier of British Columbia.

Wednesday's (Jan. 27) keynote will be delivered by Hon. Seamus O'Regan, Canada's Federal Minister of Natural Resources.

Premier John Horgan will give his address on Jan. 28 (Thursday) from 10:30 to 11 a.m.

Last year's event saw more than 1,200 delegates, making it one of the largest conferences in the province.

The BC Natural Resources Forum has its full list of speakers for the 2021 conference listed on its website
