Where to find temporary shelter in Prince George as temperatures drop

While the city is currently under a snowfall warning, cold temperatures are also in the forecast for the rest of the week, which will be the first cold spell of the year facing the city’s vulnerable population.

On Wednesday, Environment Canada is predicting a high of -21 C and a low of -33 C, a high of -28 C and a low of -35 C on Thursday, and a high of -29 C and a low of -35 C on Friday.

BC Housing has a list of warming shelters available in Prince George.

The organization advises phoning a shelter to find out how many beds are free and how late you can arrive. If a shelter doesn’t have a bed available, staff may help you find other options.
