Veterans Plaza at City Hall will see some wintery fun presented by Downtown Prince George on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Ice slides will be on the list of fun things to do as Ness Lake Bible Camp brings in ice from Ness Lake and there will even be enough ice brought in for sculptures.
This event will offer road hockey games with the Cariboo Cougars, face painting, children’s activities, a free rides on Cottonwood MiniRail and music by DJ Ant.
For those coming to the event for the food, there’s the S’Mores Downtown contest that sees teams participating in a friendly competition with people attending the event as the big benefactors of those delicious creations and there will also be an Outdoor Food Court where people can try a variety of food from Frank’s Family Concession, Afro Caribbean Cuisine, Origins Kitchen and The Gosling by White Goose Bistro.
To start the day off right the Royal Canadian Legion will be offering a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon and then lunch is offered from 11:30am to 1pm. Many downtown restaurants and cafes will be embracing the winter theme with specials, too.
Retail stores will be open and so will the Prince George Farmers’ Market and Q3 Community Market at Third and Quebec from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Everyone is welcome to visit Antique Alley on Fourth near George where several shops are bursting with antiques and vintage items.
