Fans at Northern Fancon on Saturday afternoon were treated to the stories and experiences of wrestling legend Bret "The Hitman" Hart during a main stage event at CN Centre. The Hall of Fame wrestler shared many anecdotes that chronicled his storied career that spanned from the early days of Stampede Wresting, to his retirement in 2000.
The Calgary-born wrestler is one of the most decorated wrestlers ever to lace up the boots and enter the ring, winning many championship belts along the way before a severe concussion from an errant kick to the head ended his career. Hart won his first WWF title belt with a victory over renowned wrestler Ric Flair on October 12, 1992 in Saskatoon. Over the years Hitman was a 5-time WWF World Heavyweight Champion, a 5-time WWE United States Heavyweight Champion, 2-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, WCW World Tag Team Champion, 6-time Stampede Wrestling North American Heavyweight Champion, 2-time Stampede Wrestling British Commonwealth Mid-Heavyweight Champion, 5-time Stampede Wrestling International Tag Team Champion, and WWC Caribbean Tag Team Champion.
The illustrious career saw Hart wrestle alongside many other famous performers such as Hulk Hogan, Razor Ramon, Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Ric Flair, and the "British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith.
