Cat, Frenchie and Gilda are at it again in the second of a series called the Y-Files Mysteries, books for young people written by a local author.

Glen Sargeant, a retired teacher, has penned Slalakum and his book signing is at Coles bookstore at Pine Centre Mall Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m.

Sargeant who has taught Grades 2 to 7 for more than 30 years, with the last 19 of his career spent at Central Ft. George traditional school, said there is never enough emphasis put on reading and he wrote the mysteries to encourage youth to pick up a book. The first of the series is called Finders Keepers, which was launched earlier this year. The books are published by Publish America, a company Sargeant found over the Internet, he said.

Sargeant, who began writing in 1994, said he is currently working on his third novel in the series which will have a super natural element to it, just like his previous two novels.
