Mounties in Prince George have arrested a youth after a weapon was found at a local high school.
RCMP say they responded to an incident at Kelly Road Secondary School at roughly 8:53 a.m. this morning (Jan. 11).
A safety concern was reported and a lockdown was initiated.
When police arrived, they found a weapon (unnamed) and took a youth into custody.
The lockdown was cancelled shortly after. There were no injuries and there are no further safety concerns, according to police.
"Incidents like this within our schools are taken very seriously by the police and the quick response by our officers ensured this matter was resolved safely,” says Cpl. Carmen Kiener in a press release.
