Youth to take Fraser to the Pacific

A youth from the Prince George region will soon be learning from the Fraser River itself.

Christine Charlie, 24, is a member of the Stellat'en First Nation at Fraser Lake. She is one of the eight paddlers in the Sustainable Living Leadership Program (SLLP) boats that will journey the length of the Fraser River from Mount Robson to the Pacific Ocean. Their 1,400 km journey by raft, canoe and stages on foot will begin on Aug. 5 and is scheduled to conclude in Vancouver on Aug. 29.
