2022 Teck B.C. Cross-Country Skiing Championships start at Otway Nordic Centre

Competitive skiing returned to Otway Nordic Centre Friday morning for first day of racing in the 2022 Teck B.C. Cross-Country Championships

Conditions on the trails at Otway Nordic Centre were ideal for racing on the first of the three-day 2022 Teck B.C. Cross-Country Skiing Championships.

Three-hundred and twelve racers of all ages and abilities from all over the province hit the trails, competing in 12 different classes ranging from under-eight boys, and girls, all the way up to masters men and women. Course lengths varied depending on age group with the youngest racers competing on a one-kilometre course and the older athletes competing on a 10km course, made up of two 5km laps.

The second day of skiing starts on Saturday morning with the first racers scheduled to begin at 10 a.m., competing in free technique skiing with an individual start format.

The third and final day of skiing a classic technique relay - starts Sunday morning at 10 a.m.
