Araujo on way to Winnipeg?

It appears there will be no encore performance for Jose Araujo.

It appears there will be no encore performance for Jose Araujo.

Araujo, who played for the UNBC Northern Timberwolves men's basketball team last season and was a major contributor in the club's national championship run, looks as if he will be attending the University of Winnipeg this coming school year. At U of W, Araujo would rejoin former UNBC head coach Mike Raimbault, who left the Timberwolves in April to become floor boss of the Wesmen.

At the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association nationals, held in Calgary in March, Araujo was a first-team all-star. In the championship game against the SAIT Trojans, he scored 23 points from his shooting guard position and helped the T-wolves to a 96-63 win.

"At this point right now, it looks like he's going to end up at U of W with Mike," new UNBC coach Todd Jordan said on Saturday.
